Surrey home with in-roof solar and battery storage
A clean, roof-integrated system designed as part of the home's exterior rather than added on top. Fourteen Aiko panels sit in a GSE in-roof mounting system, paired with Enphase microinverters and 10 kWh of battery storage.

The brief
A family who wanted solar that looked designed-in, not bolted on. The brief was a flush, roof-integrated array with enough storage to cover the evening peak, and monitoring they could actually read.
The challenge
The roofline is the first thing you see from the lane, so standard on-roof rails were out. We needed an in-roof system that kept the profile flush, met the manufacturer's fixing spec, and still hit the generation target from twelve months of usage data.
What we did
- 01
Sized the system from twelve months of smart-meter data rather than a rule of thumb.
- 02
Fitted fourteen Aiko Neostar panels in a GSE in-roof mounting system, flush with the tiles.
- 03
Wired Enphase microinverters behind every panel for per-panel monitoring and no single point of failure.
- 04
Installed a 10 kWh battery and commissioned the app, tariff and export paperwork on handover.
“The panels feel like part of the roof, not an afterthought — exactly the finish we wanted for the house.”
