- How much does an EICR cost?
- A domestic EICR starts at £180 and is priced on the number of circuits. We confirm the fixed price before booking, and there is no charge for the quote.
- Is an EICR a legal requirement for landlords?
- Yes. Rented homes in England need an EICR at least every five years and at each change of tenancy, with a copy given to tenants within 28 days.
- How often should a homeowner test?
- Every ten years for an owner-occupied home, or sooner if you are buying, extending, or seeing tripping, scorching or an old fuse board.
- What happens if the report is unsatisfactory?
- You get a clear list of C1, C2 and C3 items with a fixed price for the remedial work. Landlords must fix C1 and C2 items within 28 days, and we can usually do that on the same visit.
- How long does the test take?
- Around two to four hours for a typical three-bedroom home, depending on the number of circuits and access to the board.
